This webinar delves into the intersection of air quality, aging, and community support. Topics include the impacts of air pollution on brain health, particularly for seniors with dementia, and how poor air quality events can exacerbate health risks. Participants will learn strategies for engaging with vulnerable demographics and explore municipal bylaws and guidelines for protecting older adults during air quality crises. Additionally, the session will highlight collaborative work with WCAS and discuss the challenges and considerations of evacuating seniors during emergencies.

Join speakers Dr. Ryan Allen, Professor, Simon Fraser University; Dr. Shelby Yamamoto, Associate Professor, University of Buffalo; and Kristen Chambers, CAO, The Evergreens Foundation, to gain valuable insights and actionable recommendations for safeguarding our aging population in a changing climate.
